After unsifted gravel has been run through a screening plant, the result is a much finer gravel which is used for the preparation of areas before being paved. sifted gravel can be used for the graveling of roads. also used in roadworks. very compactable.

Marx Vervoer was established in 1990 and started out as a small transport concern by the owners Koos and Johanet Marx with one tipper truck. The company’s success thus far can be ascribed to our dedicated service, honesty and loyalty towards our clients. Throughout the years the company grew to a leading transport concern in the delivering of sand and stone with more than 30 trucks with branches in the township and the head office in Bainsvlei, Bloemfontein.

The infrastructure in Bainsvlei consists of a fully equipped workshop with dedicated technicians. Complimentary to these are a trailer shop and a panel beating and spray booth to assure fast and excellent service to our clients.

How many shovels of material in a wheelbarrow of concrete mix?

1 x shovel of cement
2 x shovels of sand
3 x shovels of stone/ gravel

How to make concrete

Concrete mix is a mixture of sand, stone and cement mixed all together (Directions on every back of cement available).

Water
Oor die algemeen is dit so dat hoe meer water by ‘n gegewe hoeveelheid sement gevoeg word, hoe swakker is die sement of beton mengsel. Dit is belangrik om eers die minimum hoeveelheid water by te voeg om die sement mengbaar te maak.

Bere plek vir sement
Bere sakkies sement op ‘n opgeligte plek in ‘n vogvrye tuinstoor of bereplek. Sement moet gebruik word in dieselfde volgorde as waarin jy dit koop, omdat sement mettertyd hard word.

Meng
Meet alle materiale akkuraat deur ‘n gepaste houer (kruiwa of emmer) te gebruik. Meng deeglik totdat ‘n egalige kleur verkry word. Voeg water by terwyl gemeng word, wees versigtig vir te veel water.

Droog proses
Beton of pleister moet minstens sewe dae lank klam gehou word om seker te maak die sterkte neem toe. Sproei liggies met water of beskerm die oppervlak met ‘n stuk plastiek om te keer dat dit uitdroog

Hoe  wyd en diep behoort fondasie te wees.

Gewoonlik 0.6m wyd by 0.45m diep – maak net seker wat die plaaslike regulasies is.
